In order to run the Anaconda Adventure Race at Waihi we really need the support of volunteers to help us. As such we looking for enthusiastic people to join our volunteer team and help make it all happen - which can really be a lot of fun and it also means you won't have to get anywhere near as dirty as the athletes or be anywhere near as energetic! Who are our volunteers?

They are people from all backgrounds who enjoy being part of great events. Many of our volunteers are friends or family members of participants who want to get involved and share the race-day experience without doing the sport part!

What kind of commitment is involved?

The Anaconda Adventrue Race itself is a single day event held on the Saturday so most help is required on Saturday 24th April, but we also need some assistanse setting things up, running registration and the Kids Junior Survivor event on Sunday 25th April - so even if you can't be around on the day itself you can still be involved as a volunteer.

We provide formal volunteer briefings before each event to explain each volunteer’s role. The roles vary, and may include helping with registration, manning the start or finish, manning check points or timing points, and marshalling.

What can I expect in return for my time?

In return for your time and hard work, we give all volunteers a competitors’ pack which includes an event t-shirt and promotional goodies from sponsors. We’ll also provide lunch on the day and allocate each volunteer a job description, team leader and any equipment needed for your role.
